Wow, this must be the very definition of boys against men (or women against girls).
Ghana’s Black Queens have been walloped 11-0 by the German national women’s team in a friendly international in Paderborn.
The Queens, having failed to qualify for the Olympic Games, were set to serve as preparation for the Germans who would appear at the tourney. Instead, it turned out to be a stroll in the park.
The Black Queens were so bad, they were already 9-0 down by half time. One player, Anja Mittag, scored four goals.
Luckily, we shipped only two in the second half to end the game at 11-0. The entire Queen’s team got a goal each from the Germans to take home.
Somewhat glumly, this wasn’t Ghana’s only humiliation of the day. The Black Satellites had earlier failed to qualify for the U-20 African Championships after beating Senegal 1-0 in Accra, but losing the tie 3-2 on aggregate.
