One thing Donald Trump and his campaign has done relentlessly since he launched his White House bid has been to never own to any wrongdoing, just deny and obfuscate until the issue goes away.
The same is going on with recent allegations of plagiarism against his wife, Melania Trump, who lifted significant portions of a Michelle Obama speech and presented them as hers during the Republican National Convention.
The campaign has since denied that Melania committed plagiarism, and Donald Trump has finally broken his silence on the matter.
In a post on his favourite social media platform, twitter, Trump decried the media’s obsession with his wife’s little slip. According to him, his wife’s speech is receiving more scrutiny from the media than Hilary Clinton’s emails got from the FBI.
He was referring, of course, to the Bureau’s over one year investigation into whether the former secretary of state and Democratic nominee broke any laws with her use of a private email account and a private email server to conduct official business during her time as the nation’s top diplomat. The FBI completed their probe earlier this month, with Director James Comey deciding not to indict her.
