Pakistani Social Media Queen Killed By Her Brother In Horrific ‘Honour Killing’

So the horrific, brutal and insane arm of a misogynistic religion/culture strikes again to take the life of a beautiful young woman in her prime for some set of imaginary crimes to appease the bruised egos of the cowards in her life who call themselves men.
Man has thought of insane/brutal things in our time on this planet, and we continue to see the maddening consequences of our brutality and stupidity every day, at terrible cost to some lesser protected ones in society.
The concept of honour killings must surely be amongst the worst.
It rests on a family killing one of their members, mostly a female, for engaging in activity which they believe dishonours the family in society. In the deeply misogynistic and partriachal societies they’ve built around their religion, the offences can range anywhere from getting raped to eloping with the man you love, and apparently to posting ranchy social media images as well.
What kind of a sick, twisted society builds such a structure? And the attitudes are so ingrained families kill their own members? This girl was killed by her brother, for Christ’s sake!
A Pakistani social media celebrity who became famous all across the country for posting images online which many felt where less than appropriate, have been strangled to death by her brother.
Police in Punjab say the strangled body of Qandeel Baloch, 26, was discovered this morning. Her brother was believed to have carried out the ‘honour killing’, having gotten into an argument with his sister Friday night.
“Ms Baloch, 26, recently caused controversy by posting controversial pictures of herself on social media, including one alongside a Muslim cleric.” The BBC reported.
“Qandeel Baloch became a household name for posting bold, sometimes raunchy, photographs, video and comments.”
She has been dubbed the ‘Kim Kardashian’ of Pakistan, the British broadcaster added, although she was intentionally pushing back against the deeply misogynistic culture of her people, which more often than not translated into violence against women.
Her brothers had pressured her on more than one occasion to stop modelling, something she vehemently refused. She believed she was playing an important role in furthering conversation in her country.
She has received numerous threats in the past, and had been callously turned down by the authorities despite requesting for security as she feared for her life. On social media, some Pakistani are apparently rejoicing at her death, calling her brother the killer a hero.
That ‘hero’, a sister killing zealot, is currently on the run. How f**ked up can one society get?
Check out photos of her below….
