Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood has sworn in 13 new judges to the High Court to replace those toppled after being implicated in the judicial corruption expose by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
Georgina Wood foresaw the short ceremony held Friday, as the new justices made the step up to the nation’s third highest court.
Those sworn in include Justices Cecilia Naa Shormeh Davis, Charles Edward Ekow Baiden, Kwasi Anokye Gyimah, Richard Osei-Hwere and Francis Apangabund Achibonga.
Jennifer Anne Myers Ahmed, Kofi Nyanteh Akuffo, Emmanuel Senyo Amedahe, Samuel Asare-Nyarko, Emmanuel Lodoh, Sedina Agbemava, Rita Agyeman-Badu and Ellen Vivian Amoah complete the list.
Several justices had to be sacked after they were implicated in the scandal, when Anas filmed them taking varying levels of cash and other incentives to rule one way or the other.
