The selfie has caused a lot of harm to a lot of people, lately adding an 11 year old Snapchat enthusiast to the list.
The 11 year old boy (name withheld) was getting ready to take a selfie for Snapchat when he was attacked by a dog, The Metro reveals.
The dog jumped the boy and mangled his face, getting in several marks before they were separated. He needed 21 stitches to repair the damage done to his face.
The incident occurred at the house of a friend of the boy, the family who owned the dog.
A judge has ordered for the dog to be put down for the attack, whilst the owner is fighting the decision. The boy has developed a fear of dogs as a consequence, his mother told the court.
“He now has a great fear of dogs, especially bigger dogs, which he never had before. We have to cross the road now if we see one coming.” She said.
“If he goes round friend’s houses who have dogs they have to be put in cages because his friends know he has a fear of them.”
Stuart Harris, the dog’s owner, has been ordered to complete 200 hours of community work, as well to pay the victim £5,000.
