Upon sexist attacks made by Kennedy Agyapong on the EC Chairman, the Concerned Women of Ghana have decided to have a #KenMustApologize protest march to Parliament today, 12th July 2016 at 8am.
The Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Mr Kennedy Agyapong made offensive and sexist comments that undermined the person and authority of Mrs Charlotte Osei. Many successful career women have been ‘slut-shamed’, being accused of ‘sleeping their way to the top’ and Mrs Osei, the EC Chairman was recently a victim of this when Kennedy Agyapong accused her of doing just that.
Many Ghanaians including; National Zongo Magajia Association, Queen Mothers of Greater Accra Region and many others were outraged over the comments made by the MP and have called on him to render unqualified apologies to all women and the EC boss.
The following groups have been invited to join the Protest March: Female Ministers and Deputy Ministers, Female MPs, Female Heads Of Institutions, Female Students Representatives and Unions.
This has been trending on twitter for some time now and while some people have showed their support, others do not see any reason why Kennedy Agyapong should apologize.
