Apparently the opposition New Patriotic Party ( NPP ) have decided to awaken the dead debris of the Ford Expedition vehicle gifted to the president by one Burkinabe contractor Djibril Kanazoe. The very vehicle that got the president to admit his distaste for Japanese cars.
Regional Communication Directors of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) drawn from all 10 regions in Ghana have urged President John Mahama, to return the Ford Expedition given to him by Kanazoe. In a communiqué issued on the sidelines of a two-day Communications Workshop of the party in Kumasi, the Regional Communications Directors noted that, this action by the President is an unprecedented act of corruption and must not be allowed to stand.
“A gift equivalent of 15% of the contract sum of $650, 000 awarded to the contractor is something that cannot be justified under any circumstance. If the President is taking 15% of contracts, how much are his Ministers also taking?” the communiqué asked.
