Whatever the opposition party is on must really be high. I cannot fathom what exactly is wrong with them. For a party which does not have its household together—fighting amongst party members — keeping mute and solving such paramount issues should be a topmost priority, but it looks like only a few people have seen the darkened cloud on this political party.
It certainly looks like the opposition party has an unknown feud with the Electoral Commission (EC), the EC Chairperson so to say. We all witnessed the scathing utterances meted out to the said Chairman by the honourable Minister for Assin Central Kennedy Ohene Agyapong. Obviously this man has been an inadvertent pacesetter.
The Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party has expressed his skepticism and distrust with regards to the EC’s ability to organise a transparent and clean election.
According to Nana Obiri Boahen there is not even an iota trust in the EC body to perform adequately if not perfect in the November polls. He said he would rather trust a prostitute than the EC.
“I prefer to trust a prostitute who is carrying her trade in the night than the EC of today,” he said.
The NPP functionary made this comment when he was reacting to the Supreme Court’s Tuesday decision in which the EC was directed to remove names of persons who registered with National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) cards.
