Load Shedding Schedule To Be Released Soon By ECG

    Dumsor

Our earlier assertion that the much maligned dumsor is back and back for good has been confirmed by Deputy Minister of Power, John Jinapor who says the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) will make public the new timetable for the ongoing load shedding in the country.
It seems out plea for the ECG to respect our rights as Ghanaians and come out with a time table did not fall on deaf ears. He disclosed this is expected to put the public on the notice so that properties would not be at the mercy of the rampant power outages.
The Deputy sector Minister disclosed this on an Accra-based radio station Citi FM in reaction to the renewed power challenges in the country.
Many Ghanaians have registered their displeasure over the return of the challenges in the power sector popularly called “Dumsor” in the country.
Sympathising with Ghanaians, Mr Jinapor said the renewed energy crisis in the country is attributable to the shortage in fuel supply provided to the Volta River Authority (VRA) by Sahara Oil.
“There have been some militant attacks in Nigeria and that has affected the schedule in supply,” he said.
Due to the problem in supply, Mr Jinapor said, the government has been compelled to outstretch itself to run on reserves, adding, “We are unable to run at full capacity.”
This the Minister disclosed has “created some amount of deficit and we are working on it.”
Per the new arrangements with Sahara Oil, Mr Jinapor said fuel is expected in the country on Friday, July 8, 2016.
