Former First Lady and flagbearer of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, has revealed a connection in her past to the late ace journalist, Komla Dumor.
According to the former first lady, Komla was a son of a close friend of her husband the former President. Thus at one point, she was paying the fees for his university education, although she did not know him at the time.
Nana Konadu made the disclosure during an appearance on Starr Chat with Bola Ray Wednesday.
“I paid Komla Dumor’s fees at the university,” she told Bola Ray.
The issue came up in relation to a past scandal Bola Ray interviewed her on, and how she perceived his unfair coverage of the story.
“He is dead so I don’t want to go further into that issue,” she added.
Komla Dumor attended the University of Ghana, and his father, Ernest Dumor, was a well known University professor.
The former BBC broadcaster passed away in 2014.
