Dancehall king Shatta Wale has spoken out on the corporate social responsibility initiative he’s put in place, ‘Shatta Supports’, as a way of giving back to the community.
The singer in a recent interview has outlined his plan for the recent initiative, which he said would focus, for the meantime, on getting people help in the education and health sectors.
“In recent times, the falling standards of education across the Ghanaian educational system has become obvious. This calls for a pragmatic approach in ensuring that the issue is tackled from the core.” He said.
“A healthy people is a healthy country so it’s important to pay attention to the health of the citizens. That explains why I want to focus on the two for now, but there will be other areas we will be looking at as the campaign progresses”.
Shatta Wale also talked about the rationale behind setting up the initiative.
“Shatta Supports is the corporate social responsibility arm of Shatta Movement which seeks to develop the socio-human capital of Ghana by improving the quality of people’s lives through appropriate and sustainable social interventions in identified areas. As a celebrity, it is my way of giving back to the very people who have supported me to get to the top. It is very important to use my status to impact positively on their lives”. He added.
