Former first lady and Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Party (NDP) , Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, has noted in an interview that she never was a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), but rather helped build the party for what remains of it today.
This she disclosed in an exclusive interview with Francis Abban on Multi TV’s news analysis programme, PULSE.
The comment was provoked when the host asked the former lady if she became a member of the NDC due to her relationship with her husband Jerry John Rawlings, the then president of the country.
“The NDC were going on a certain way, they have turned left and now walking backwards” she added.
Nana Konadu who kept saying she is not there to talk about the NDC also added that she can run the government without a majority in Parliament.
Obviously Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia has set the stakes so high—with the likes of Akua Donkor wanting to accede such a throne, the only plausible pick in this context would be our never ageing former first lady.
