Donald Trump’s Campaign Is Broke

Donald Trump’s campaign for President of the United States is flat out broke, federal records show.
Trump’s campaign filed returns with the US Federal Election Commission (FEC) for May Monday night, and what it shows is a limping campaign with no hope or plans going forward.
The Donald Trump campaign revealed a total of $1.3m as cash on hand – money available to be used for expenses going forward – entering June, far below what one would expect for a major Presidential campaign in the exorbitant US media climate.
For comparison, his general election opponent, Democratic candidate Hilary Rodham Clinton, had more than $41m cash on hand entering the month of June.

Not only does he have very little, fundraising is also pretty much bust for him. He raised $3.1m in May, in contrast to Mrs Clinton’s $28m figure in May. The real estate mogul was even forced to lend $1.2m of his own money to the campaign to keep it afloat. He reportedly has a nationwide campaign staff of 70, again minuscule compared to the nearly 700 staff employed by the Clinton campaign.
Aside money issues, Trump fired his long time campaign manager Corey Lewandowski on Monday. Recently, several huge multinational companies withdrew their support of the Republican convention due to the divisive presence of Donald J. Trump.
Both parties formally choose their nominees next month, after which the general election campaign would kick off proper. The Republican party has its own money and staff they would use to push their nominee, but the lack of money and personnel signals a campaign not very good at serious planning.
