Medeama Commences CAF Confederations Cup Group Stage Campaign With A 3-1 Loss Away To T.P Mazembe


Ghana’s SC Medeama commenced their CAF Confederations Cup group stage campaign with a 3-1 loss to Tout Puissant (T.P) Mazembe in Lubumbashi Sunday.
The defending Caf Champions League champions made a statement of intent with a comfortable win over the newcomers from Ghana.
Malik Akowuah gave Medeama the lead under a minute, but Zambian international Rainford Kalaba’s brace, sandwiched by a Salif Coulibaly strike, handed the Congolese side a comfortable home win.
Medeama hit a brick wall after an impressive qualifying campaign, but will have a chance to turn things around when they host Algeria’s MO Bejaia in Essipong on June 29.
