President Mahama has revealed the incredibly sweet words of comfort his eight year old daughter, Farida, said to cheer him up whilst he was grieving the loss of his mum.
The first family and the entire country were hit with the sad news of the demise of the mother of our leader, Abiba Nnaba, at age 85.
The entire nation mourned with the President, who lost a mum he had described as possessing ‘gentle dignity’. However, amidst all the condolences from dignitaries, both foreign and local, the most soothing was from his own daughter, eight year old Farida Mahama.
President Mahama retold the magic words his daughter used to get him to smile again:
“Smile! You lost your mother, but you have me” Farida told her daddy.
How incredibly sweet, and perceptive too. One to keep an eye on, perhaps.
