I am not a fan of president John Dramini Mahama but sometimes journalists and politicians who want to indict him ought to be a bit honest to their cause.
John Mahama may be corrupt but receiving a gift which he did not in any way directly or indirectly benefit from cannot be reasonable termed as corruption.
Every wrong doing must have elements and the elements must be fulfilled.
Generally, “Corruption is a form of dishonest or unethical conduct by a person entrusted with a position of authority, often to acquire personal benefit.”
With president Mahama not benefiting from this Ford car which has generated unending indictments, where is the corruption allegations coming from?
It can be said to be improper or something else, and perhaps if we can show that this car influenced the contracts which was granted to the giver, then can we cite the president for some sort of deeper wrong.
Either than that, this is just a political noise, nothing substantive.
If you want to show that a president is corrupt and indeed if he is, this should not be what must be zoomed in on.
This is like someone offering to give the president a car and he saying, I don’t want it, donate it to that car-less government school. In this case, he received it and directed it to a place he won’t benefit from, but rather Ghana in general.
Let’s rally behind politics but do so honestly!
