President John Dramani Mahama is already in full campaign mode, and in Ghana that means trekking across the country commissioning some conveniently timed projects that is set to boost your profile. It’s one of the many perks of incumbency our system has, and our politicians never hesitate to abuse it to the max.
President Mahama is feeling pretty good about that though, and whilst commissioning one of the projects, he joked about how he has been commissioning so many projects these days he has developed the name Commissioner General.
“…We will be commissioning the data center in a short time. That is why I am developing the name Commissioner General. I am being called to commission things all over the place,” the President said at the 2016 edition of African ICT and Mobile expo.
The President’s list of recently commissioned projects is indeed numerous, including the much publicised Komenda Sugar Factory.
