President John Dramani Mahama was in the Ivorian capital on Wednesday, for bilateral talks with his counterpart, Alassane Ouatarra.
As part of the trip, the President was also presented with the highest national award of Cote d’Ivoire, the Grand Croix, during a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace.
“My meetings with President Alassane Ouattara have centred on boosting economic activities between our two countries, how we can spearhead the regional integration efforts of the subregion, how to amicably resolve our maritime border issues and subregional security.” The President wrote about the trip in a post on social media.
Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire have long had strong ties, although a current international maritime dispute over some oil fields does not seem to have put a damper in the relations.
The President returns to the country today (Thursday)
