Singer Papi of 5Five fame has come out to defend himself against attacks from Kontihene, saying the ‘Aketesea’ hitmaker is a wack MC whose songs aren’t any good.
Kontihene ranted against Papi and Bulldog in a scathing appearance on Happy Fm Saturday, an appearance that drew a similarly fiery response from Bulldog.
But Papi, who was the primary target of the attacks, has given his own reply to Kontihene. Speaking on Vibes in 5, Papi replied Kontihene in kind.
“First of all I don’t know who Kontihene is. I remember I took a mic from someone some years back but I don’t know who he was. I believe the person was a whack MC and that’s why I went on stage to take his mic. I don’t think if he was that good, I would have taken his mic.
“Besides, I was popping by then. Tell the person he can’t stop my career. I personally stopped doing music for sometime, and when I came back I had a banger- ‘Mujebaya’. I want to ask Kontihene if the mic I took from him ended his career. I am amazed he still thinks about me after all these years, this shows he loves me. If his career is dead, he should resurrect it himself, he shouldn’t use me.”
Papi finished by following Bulldog’s lead, saying he dedicates Shatta Wale’s controversial ‘Wo Maame Tw*’ to him.
Kontihene was feuding all day with Bulldog Saturday, based on an incident that occurred years back which still seemed to irk him. He dissed both Papi and Bulldog based on that, although the latter responded with some harsh words of his own.
