One person died from a gunshot wound Wednesday night, after shooting erupted at a concert ground in New York right before rapper T.I was set to mount the stage.
The deceased, identified as a 33 year old male by law enforcement, died after sustaining the injury during the shooting, which reportedly occurred due to a scuffle that broke out backstage just before the concert.
“Law enforcement tells us the rapper was set to perform at Irving Plaza in NYC Wednesday night when the shooting occurred. We’re told at least 2 men and 2 women were shot” TMZ reports.
“Sources backstage say an argument started right before one of the opening acts was about to perform.” the report continues.
“We’re told at some point, a gun was pulled and people from backstage ran into the crowd as shots rang out.”
T.I never mounted the stage, and doesn’t seem to have been involved at all. Law enforcement at this point have no suspects, but that could change as more information comes in.
