4. No Quality Or Family Time With Husbands:   
The true essence of marriage is to have a life partner with whom you spend more time with than apart. But from my conversation with these six women, the opposite holds for them.
They spend more time alone than with their so called husbands, under the disguise that they are busy training or sometimes have to sleep in hotels to avoid sex with them because sex drains the energy needed to play football.
“M” talked to me about how her husband once told her he will be spending the next one week in a hotel and be going to training from there when she visited him at his base, because he had been advised by his coach not to have sex and with her around, the temptation was high.
By now, you may have figured out what was happening.
The footballer was rather keeping another girl he had bought a ticket for, to come from Ghana in the hotel—and this she claims was not the first time she has caught her husband cheating.
“As for cheating, I don’t even want to talk about it. I am used to it. I don’t even get angry anymore. I just pray he does not come and give me any disease because the women are everywhere and the moment he buys them a plane ticket, they fly in. So many cheap women all around these days.”
My conversations with these women left me with one lesson; things are never what they seem to be—and marrying a broke man seems like a worthy enterprise, compared to marrying a rich man who has more use for his money than can make of you.
The question however remains unanswered; why are these women and the many others still stuck in these heartless relationships?
The six women I spoke to agreed to speak behind the veil; five are still married and the other does not want any unnecessary direct finger-pointing.
