The group stage draw for the 2016 CAF Confederations Cup has been held, and Ghana’s SC Medeama have been handed a tough draw .
The Tarkwa based club reached the group stage after a hard fought victory over South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns, qualifying on the away goals rule after a 3-3 aggregate scoreline.
The draw pitted them against African champions TP Mazembe, who were the toughest possible group stage draw.
The other teams in the group include Algeria’s MO Bejaja, who have already conquered Ghanaian opposition this year after they dumped Ashantigold out of the Champions League, and Tanzania’s Young Africans.
Hearts of Oak were the last and only Ghanaian side to life the Confederations Cup, winning its inaugural edition in 2004.
