Film maker Leila Djansi has taken a dig at moral police Manasseh Azure Awuni for shoving his bigoted views down everyone’s throat. Leila was reacting to the public feuding between actress Lydia Forson and the renowned journalist
“Who made who judge over anyone’s morals?” Leila asked Manasseh in a new Facebook post on Wednesday.
“It’s ok for a man to flaunt his six-pack, but not for a woman to show a bit of her flesh if she so desires? She’s supposed to ‘keep it for her husband.’ What’s hubby keeping for her?” the ‘Sinking Sands” director added.
She continued: “You should not impose your personal convictions as law on anyone. You are not an absolute.”

I traced my news feed to find actress Lydia Forson and a famed journalist trading open letters arguing ‘morality’ ‘nudity’ and ‘womanhood’.
Who made who judge over anyone’s morals? The ultimate judge of your morals is yourself and what makes you sleep well at night.
It’s ok for a man to flaunt his six-pack, but not for a woman to show a bit of her flesh if she so desires? She’s supposed to ‘keep it for her husband.’ What’s hubby keeping for her?
‘Africans do not dress nude’. Since when? Didn’t we start with breasts flapping in the air and a small cloth between the legs?
Did Dipo rites not signify the pride of virginity?
Modernization/christianity is what made the African woman cover her breasts and hair, not African morals.
Folks pick and choose what justifies their current belief. You should not impose your personal convictions as law on anyone. You are not an absolute. Watching Gods of Egypt yesterday, Horus said ‘to enter the afterlife, you’ll be judged by your goodness’. Jesus also said you’ll be judged by your faith, not works. Muhammad also has his law. Who you believe is what determines how you live your life.
I’m going back to bed!
