Young Ghanaian sensation Abraham Attah has revealed a hitherto unknown nugget about his past- the huge role Assin North MP Kennedy Agyapong played in getting him to his current position.
The award winning Oscar nominee paid a courtesy call on the NPP MP at his Assin Fosu residence, and revealed at the meeting the huge helping hand that was once handed to him by the MP.
The ‘Beasts of No Nation’ star said Mr Agyapong helped pay his fees as a boy growing up, at a time when he was a vendor in the streets of Ashaiman.
The MP said he had spotted Attah at six years selling at a toll booth in the town, and sponsored his education alongside a few others he was there with. He had apparently forgotten about it until he received a call from Attah’s team that they planned to visit him and thank him for that.
Abraham Attah shot to fame after he starred alongside Idris Elba in the Netflix movie ‘Beasts of No Nation’ despite no prior acting experience. His performance earned him rave reviews, and several honours, including Best Male lead at the 2016 Independent Spirit Film Awards.
I feel proud of this boy. It’s good to remember and show appreciation to those who are there for us in times of need. I hope he keeps this up
