Shatta Wale Says He's Not Going To Campaign For Any Party This Election Cycle

Shatta Wale

The one and only ‘Dancehall King’, Shatta Wale, has emphatically stated that he has no intentions of donning any political colours this year, as the hotly contested 2016 elections gradually approaches.
Celebrities such as John Dumelo and Bukom Banku have made their preferences quite clear, and have hit the campaign trail for the President already.
Shatta Wale, however, has made it clear he would remain neutral. His father, Nii-Armah Mensah Snr, is an NDC stalwart, leading to speculation Wale could follow in his footsteps.
But in an interview with The Ghanaian News in Canada, Chris Koney, spokesman for the ‘Kakai’ hitmaker, said that his client would actively refrain from the political arena to concentrate on his primary concern of showbiz, whilst using that platform to promote a peaceful polls.
“Shatta is not getting to politics. As a Ghanaian artiste, he will continue to preach about peace and urge the younger ones to desist from electoral violence in order to help build a stronger Ghana because it’s important we realise that, peace cannot be achieved through violence but only attained through understanding.” he told Edmund Agbeko.
Koney, speaking further, added whatever beef might have existed between Shatta Wale and Samini have now been quashed.
“There is no bad blood between Wale and Samini. He [Wale] regards him [Samini] as an industry person because Samini is his fellow musician.” he continued.
“However, they are not friends. Whatever happened earlier is part of dancehall and in this genre of music, you need to get your consistency [right], so it is what it is!”
Shatta Wale had a quiet Saturday night due to his feud with CharterHouse, although it’s undeniable that the show could have used his considerable energy.
