Confidence Trickster Hangs Around Bank And Defrauds Customers (Video)

A confidence trickster in Accra has defrauded a school boy to the tune of Ghc 5,000 by hanging around a bank and pretending to be a staff member who can help with his transaction.
The school boy was at the bank to deposit money handed to him by his mother when the brazen thief swindled him and made away with his cash.
The incident occurred at a Barclays bank branch in Accra.
Citi Fm, who reported the story, spoke to a brother of the victim.
“The man told him he is an old student of the (boy’s Osu GES Model) school and that got him excited. He told the guy that he will help him go through the process. He actually pointed him to one of the sofas and directed him to sit there.”  he told the Accra based radio station.
After taking the money from the boy, he bolted.
CCTV footage has shown the culprit, who apparently has swindled others at the same bank in the same manner, and has even been arrested, but surprisingly, he has been let go every time.
What kind of system lets a fraudster get away three times, and he returns to the scene of his crime to commit more of the same crime?
The boy’s mother has reportedly sued the bank.
