Allegations of plagiarism are flying on the Ghanaian music scene at the moment, and rapper Edem is not interested in being thrown anywhere into that mix.
The rapper just tore into a Shatta Wale fan online, for claiming Edem’s ‘Nyedzilo’ music video was similar to Shatta Wale’s initial ‘Kakai’ video that never materialised.
Shatta Wale caught a lot of grief for releasing the track ‘Bie Gya’, which he was accused of plagiarising from Chris Waddle and Stonebwoy, and one of his unhappy fans tried to pin a similar charge on Edem.
The fan claimed on Facebook that Wale initially shot a ‘Thriller’ themed video for Kakai, but decided to shelve it after Edem beat him to the punch with a similar video. He said Shatta decided not to make any noise about it but now everyone is on his case for ‘Bie Gya’.
But in a scathing response, Edem said the one talking was bereft of common sense.
Some of you dont have common Sense even though its for free..Look at such a post that depicts pure ignorance and stupidity…Sorry to say some of u fans have to be very responsible in what you write.. – Edem
