The remains of the artiste known as Prince was given its final send-off with a quiet ceremony open exclusively to family and friends.
The late 57 year old icon was cremated in the ceremony, after his shocking death earlier this week.
“A few hours ago, Prince was celebrated by a small group of his most beloved: family, friends and his musicians, in a private, beautiful ceremony to say a loving goodbye,” the singer’s publicist, Anna Meacham said.
Prince was found dead at his Paisley Park estate in Minneapolis Thursday. Police have ruled out foul play or suicide, and an autopsy conducted on him would not be ready until almost four weeks from now.
Born Prince Rogers Nelson, the eccentric yet incredibly talented singer won numerous awards throughout an iconic career, including seven Grammy Awards, and an Oscar in for the score to 1984s ‘Purple Rain’, which he starred in.
