Former WWE superstar and one time women’s champion Joan Laurer, who performed under the name Chyna, has unfortunately passed away.
Chyna was found dead in her home in Redondo Beach, California, late Wednesday, April 20. She was found unresponsive by a friend who called the police, who pronounced her dead.
Her cause of death is a possible overdose, TMZ reports. Police have reportedly ruled out foul play.
Laurer performed for years for the then World Wrestling Federation (now WWE), winning the women’s championship once. She also won the Intercontinental championship twice, and performed in the Royal Rumble and the King of the Ring Events (the only woman to achieve any of those feats).
Chyna became a reality Tv star and a p*rn actress after leaving the company. She’s had drug troubles in the past, even once appearing on‘Celebrity Rehab With Dr Drew’.
