Fan Sues Kanye West For Breaking Promise That 'The Life Of Pablo' Would Only Be Available On Tidal

Kanye West

Rapper Kanye West and Tidal, the streaming service owned by his pal Jay-Z, are both being sued by a group of fans who claim they were deceived by the rapper to sign on to Tidal and prevent its collapse.
Fan Justin Baker-Rhett has filed a suit alleging himself and many other fans where swindled by Kanye to buy into Tidal. The class action suit says over 2m fans joined the company after Kanye said his new album would only be available on the service.
However, the album has now popped up on Apple Music, and on Spotify, and is also on sale on Yeezy’s official website- meaning the subscription the fans made to join Tidal for the exclusive rights to get TPAB has now been rendered meaningless.
Baker-Rhett and his co-plaintiffs say they were tricked into rescuing Tidal- the bump in new users generated $84m for the service- and are suing both West and Tidal for damages.
