TIME 100 Reader Poll- Democratic Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders Finishes No.1

TIME Magazine releases their list of the most influential personalities every year, and are set to release that list next week.
However, they allow fans to vote on a separate list, the reader poll, and the results for that one are in.
The reader poll was won by Bernie Sanders, the Independent senator from Vermont who is running against Hillary Clintion for the privilege to be chosen as the the Democratic candidate for President. Senator Sanders, whose strength amongst new media users have carried him longer in the contest than most thought he would last, garnered 3.3% of the total yes votes cast.
Korean band ‘Big Bang’ narrowly lost to Sanders, garnering 2.9% of the yes votes. Burma’s legendary leader, Aung San Suu Kyi finished third, with 2.2%.
Barack Obama and Malala round out the top five of the reader poll.
Hilary Clinton, who leads Senator Sanders substantially in votes and delegates, received just about 1% of the total yes votes cast for the readers poll. The two face off April 19 for the New York primary, as the race continues to heat up.
TIME Magazine would release their list of the 100 most influential personalities on April 21.
