Prior to today, it was on two occasions that Bishop Daniel Obinim failed to turn up for a battle with Okomfo Yaw Appiah, who claims to be his spiritual father.
Tuesday afternoon, however, the head of the International Godsway Ministries turned up at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi, ready for another scheduled battle with Okomfo Yaw.
Obinim was accompanied by junior pastors and buses full of members of his congregation, whilst a huge crowd had gathered in anticipation. A coffin is also in view at the venue.
At the moment, Okomfo Yaw is yet to make an appearance. It seems after Obinim’s two no-shows, he thought Obinim would not make this one as well.
The pastor and his lieutenants are already deep in prayers, as they await the upcoming battle.
It’s baffling to think that adults in this modern world are seriously holding such challenges, and they are drawing huge crowds ready to watch. What are they expecting to see, lighting flying out of the hands of these charlatans? How dim are we as a people, really?
According to reports, Obinim left the park after an hour of waiting and a no-show by the Okomfo. For some reason, he and his supporters were in a jubilant mood, as if they had been victorious. Had they forgotten about the two times he ran away so soon?
