‘Prophet’ Temitope Balogun Joshua, who specialises in vague statements that his followers interpret as prescient when something remotely resembling what he said occurs (basically the Nostradamus of our time)- has a message for Ghanaians about the looming threat of terror attacks.
During the Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) church service Sunday, the Bishop offered another ‘prophecy’, asking his congregation to pray for West African neighbours Ghana and Nigeria, for acts of terror that would be committed against them in the near future.
According to him, the days we should pray mostly for are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, especially Thursdays. The attacks would come through foreign agents, he said.
“I am seeing Thursday, Friday, Saturday –if I may say Thursday – because these evil people they are very funny. Anything can just happen. You will be very shocked to see what will happen, because when the prayer is going in this direction they [attackers] change to [another] direction,”
In the past few months, Ghana’s immediate neighbours Burkina Faso and Cote d’Ivoire, as well as Mali before them; have been hit by terrorist attacks featuring foreign agents. The increased level of threats has led to Ghana increasing our own terror alert. Nigeria is one of the worst hit nations in terms of terrorism, ever since the menace of Boko Haram reared their heads. Apart from giving us the exact day, which he cannot even do without hedging, T.B Joshua is telling us nothing new.
Now Ghanaians should be vigilant, yes, because our security agencies have concluded that we are at risk of an attack, and because we have brains and can process the simple fact that our two closest neighbours have been attacked in recent months- not because some hack in Nigeria says some vague words about Thursdays and Fridays.
