The Black Stars climbed three places from last month’s low of 41st in the world to finish 38th in the latest rankings table released by the world football governing body, Fifa.
Ghana’s 3-1 win and 0-0 draw against Mozambique in qualifying were the only action the team took part in the month in review, leading to the slight surge in points.
Ghana’s position leaves her third on the continent, behind Algeria and Cote d’Ivoire but just ahead of Senegal and Egypt.
Globally, Argentina tops the list, followed by Belgium, Chile, Colombia and world champions Germany.
