He was a beloved child actor, then he fell off the radar for years as he battled legal and other issues; and he’s now ready to call it quits at the ripe old age of 35.
Macauley Caulkin appeared in the hugely popular movie franchise ‘Home Alone’, playing the role of Kevin McCallister, the movie’s vivacious protagonist. It was a role he landed at the age of ten, and which propelled him to worldwide fame.
Caulkin, in an interview with New York magazine, said that he’s basically ready to call time on his cinematic career. Caulkin was speaking as he filmed Adam Green’s Alladin, a movie by his close friend Adam Green.
‘I’m a man in his mid-30s who’s essentially retired” he told the tabloid.
“I kind of go where the wind takes me a little bit,” which these days is between Paris and New York. He adds that he likes the French capital more, because people there are a lot less doting on stars, and tend to let him enjoy his solitude.
He has been semi-retired for a while now, and its difficult to see him never taking a role when he’s still so young. I’ll call and a ‘wait and see’ on this one.
