Late comedy icon Bob Okala would be buried at the Osu Cemetery in Accra on the 7 th of May this year, it has been announced.
The veteran comedian died last month, after collapsing whilst performing at a program in the Eastern Regional capital Koforidua.
The final funeral rites for the comedian would be held at the Arts Centre in Accra, between May 6/7. The burial would then be held on May 7.
Bob Okala died early on Sunday, March 12, after he collapsed on stage whilst performing at an event in Koforidua. He was rushed to hospital but ultimately did not survive.
Okala, who had scaled back on public appearances due to health issues, nonetheless agreed to perform at a programme organised by Joy Industries at Koforidua Jackson Park.
It was during that performance that he collapsed and died.
His family has requested a state burial for the comedian.
