Veteran actor William Addo can heave a huge sigh of relief after a quick fundraising effort raised the cash needed for him to undergo eye surgery.
During Starr Fm’s morning show ‘Morning Starr’ on Thursday, the issue of Mr Addo’s problems came up, and the station initiated a quick fundraiser to raise the Ghc 5,000 needed.
That was when a group known as ‘The Great Democrats’ called in and pledged to give the money. A rep later drove to the station and handed the money over to show host Nii Arday Clegg.
They also donated three cartons of Milo and five cartons of milk
Aside the ‘Great Democrats’, several other listeners also made varying pledges to donate to the cause.
William Addo revealed recently that he’s struggling with his vision, and needs Ghc 5,000 to undergo surgery, which he isn’t getting despite numerous pleas for help.
“I have to do a surgery on my eye. My vision is very blur. Doctors diagnosed that it is a combination of glaucoma and cataract and I need to be operated upon otherwise it’s going to cause a fracture,” he KMJ on Daybreak Hitz Wednesday.
God Bless You..
