The terrorist attacks that hit the Belgian capital of Brussels Tuesday were masterminded by a pair of radicalised brothers.
Belgian nationals Khalid and Brahim el-Bakraoui carried out the twin suicide bombings, the BBC reports.
According to the British broadcaster, “The federal prosecutor said Brahim was part of the attack at Zaventem airport that killed 11 people. Khalid struck at the Maelbeek metro, where 20 people died. In all 260 people were injured.”
A manhunt is underway for another suspect.
The Zaventem airport and the Maelbeek metro were scenes of terrorist attacks on Tuesday morning. The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attacks that has killed thirty one and left hundreds injured.
Belgium is currently undergoing three days of national mourning for the slain.
