Kardashian sisters Kourteney, Kim and Khloe, have been sued by a business partner for $180m due to a failing cosmetic beauty line.
Hillair Capital Management sued the sisters in Los Angeles due to breach of contract, TMZ reports.
Their lawsuit claims that despite sinking $10m into ‘Kardashian Beauty’, a struggling cosmetic line that the sisters acquired, they failed to live up to their end of the bargain by promoting the line, leading to its massive failure.
“The Kardashians originally partnered up with a company called Boldface in 2012, launching a makeup line called “Khroma Beauty.” The site writes.
“Problem was … a year later, a judge blocked the company from using the name “Khroma.” The girls changed the name to “Kardashian Beauty,” but Boldface started tanking.
“A savior stepped in … Hillair Capital Management, buying out Boldface and sinking $10 mil into the business.”
However, instead of the sisters relentlessly promoting the line to their millions of followers, they did nothing of the sort. The line failed, and now Hillair wants their money back.
They are therefore suing for the investment they made, as well as all profits they calculated they lost on the deal. They are asking for over $180m in damages.
