President John Dramani Mahama, just returned to the country from his sojourn in Scotland where he received an honorary degree, has called on people to continue to address him as Mr and not Dr.
The President received a honorary doctor of Laws (LLD) from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, conferred in a ceremony on the University’s Kings College Campus.
The President has been tweeting about the experience, and in one of them, says he wishes to continued to be referred to as Mr Mahama, and not Dr Mahama.
I’ve got news for you President Mahama, a honorary doctorate is not a real one, so no serious person was ever going to address you as doctor anyway.
In case you haven’t heard, you can buy one for $90.

Thank you all for the messages. Thanks also to the @aberdeenuni Faculty for the honour done me and Ghanaians all over the globe.
