Michelle Obama has teamed up with a star-studded team of female artistes to create an empowering theme for little girls worldwide- dubbed ‘This Is For My Girls’
Missy Elliot, Glee’s Lea Michele, Kelly Clarkson, Disney star Zendaya, Janelle Monae, Kelly Rowland, teenage Motown artiste Jadagrace and Beyonce protégées Chloe & Halle- all contribute to the track.
The release of the song is timed to precede Michelle Obama’s groundbreaking key note address at SXSW, where she’ll talk about her ‘Let Girls Learn Initiative’- aimed at boosting education amongst female adolescents across the world.
Proceeds from the song would be funnelled into the ‘Let Girls Learn’ campaign, as all the artistes on it waived their participatory fees.
