The last thing that should be on the mind of anyone charged with murdering a sitting member of parliament is sex—but J.B Danquah’s ‘Killer’-Daniel Asiedu pleaded with a judge on Monday to grant him conjugal access to his girlfriend.
Daniel Asiedu told the court that, he has been denied visits by anyone—and he is not being allowed to speak to anyone.
He continued that, the court should at least allow him to see his pregnant girlfriend and not only that, grant conjugal visit.
Per a DailyGuide report, “He told the judge, he requested to see his pregnant girlfriend for conjugation but was denied. The judge instantaneously replied that is not allowed and can only be made to see her.”
Considering the seriousness of the offence hanging over this young man’s neck and his seemingly unreasonable request, perhaps, we should reconsider his mental state.
Daily Guide adds that, Daniel Asiedu “further told the Accra Magistrate Court that he is still being ill-treated in spite of an order directing the police to ensure his human rights are protected.
According to him, he is still put in a solitary confinement and as a result is not able to engage with other inmates. Asiedu further stated that he is always made to rush whenever he is using the washroom.
The prosecution denied the allegations but indicated they will continue to investigate the matter and ensure Daniel Asiedu’s human rights are protected.”
