Curtis Jackson Jnr, currently fighting a battle in court to be declared bankrupt, has announced that he’s no longer going to be on Instagram.
50 made the announcement on Friday, informing his myriad of fans that he would no longer personally operate the @50cent account on Instagram, but it would rather be in the hands of one of the members of his PR team.
The decision was likely taken following a rant against his current court appearances the rapper unleashed on his account Thursday. In them, 50 Cent said people are out to get him because of his money, and also said he was being treated unfairly by the court system.
“The system is so messed up, the law applies differently to people based on the personal perception of them,” he wrote on Thursday, in a since deleted Instagram post.
“It’s amazing how bad it is it’s sad.”
50’s beef was that despite having made it clear the money and signs of affluence he posts online are all fake, part of marketing his brand, he’s still being challenged on those points.
In those Instagram rants, he also said that people are always out to ‘get’ successful people like himself.
“When you make money you become a target. Not only by people who feel there competitors, but by system [itself]. The lawyers take someone’s case to go after your hard earned money pro bono.”
Whatever he has to say about the system, he still has to answer to it. Getting off Instagram looks like a good first step.
