Sonnie Badu says Yaw Siki has been lying to Ghanaians by pretending he refused his offer of assistance based on biblical principles.
According to the UK based singer, Yaw Siki turned down the money because he couldn’t answer basic questions put to him by his PR when they contacted him to help him.
Badu, in a post on Instagram, said that Siki was asked questions such as who his spiritual father was and which church he was attending, a routine procedure. But he claims the former hiplife artiste got offended and said the questions felt like ‘he was applying for a loan’.
Yaw Siki, who has been struggling with finances since leaving a secular lifestyle for one as a preacher, rejected an offer of help from Sonnie Badu.
He said he’s rejecting the offer because Badu made it public, which runs contrary to Jesus’ teaching that good should be done without trumpeting it in public.
Yaw Siki turned to Christ after surviving a horrific accident a few years ago, and has recently been speaking out about how becoming a preacher has led to many friends abandoning him, meaning he can barely get by these days.
“I’m not saying that it was his intention to get praises for the intended act but it wasn’t right to make it known to everyone.” He told Graphic Showbiz.
“If he truly wanted to assist, he could have contacted me first without making it public. I’m not in support of that because my Christian beliefs are against that so upon careful consideration, I had to turn down the offer,”
