A Harlem woman has placed an advertisement, looking for someone to take her 16-pound tortoise on summer walks in Central Park.
Henry the tortoise is 16 years old – young for an African tortoise, which can live for over 50 years – and ‘surprisingly energetic and fearless,’ his owner Amanda Green wrote in a recent Craigslist ad.
And for that slow walk with Henry, the interested person will be paid $10 per hour—which seems fair.
In the advertisement, Green warned that; the tortoise ‘doesn’t wear a leash and is surprisingly quick, so you’ll need to keep an eye on him.’
Green also wrote she uses a pet stroller to transport Henry to and from the park. Once in the grass, ‘Henry can roam freely.’
‘The biggest thing to watch out for is him eating trash or kids trying to feed him,’ Green added.
You love animals and slow walking, then this is your dream job…
