Ghana’s Vice-President Amissah-Arthur has revealed that, his dream was to be a carpenter and not a politician—that later, he has become and has climbed the latter to become the next to the President of Ghana.
According to the former governor of Bank of Ghana, his colleagues at school, however, dissuaded him from pursuing his dream of becoming a carpenter.
The Vice President made the disclosure at the launch of the British Council’s Skill Hub and Policy dialogue program.
Vice-President Amissah-Arthur said; “I remember in school I was very good at carpentry but my friends laughed at me and thought that I should stay a little more choicer with Shakespeare, which I was also good at but I thought I could have done much better with carpentry.”
It seems Vice-President Amissah-Arthur just decided to ditch his dream because he could easily have come a carpenter, compared to the things he has become today.
