Jada Pinkett Smith has finally responded to the shade comedian Chris Rock threw at her whilst he was hosting this year’s Oscar’s; dismissing it as part of the job.
Rock hit at Jada Pinkett for her decision to boycott the show, saying she cannot boycott something she wasn’t invited to.
She hadn’t responded to the diss yet, even though Rock hit her husband Will too in that same monologue. Until Saturday, that is, when she told X17 that it wasn’t that big of a deal, as jokes like that ‘comes with the territory’
“It comes with the territory, sweetheart,” she said
“Hey look, it comes with the territory but we gotta keep it moving. We gotta keep it moving. We gotta keep it moving. There’s a lot of stuff we gotta handle, a lot of stuff in our world right now. We gotta keep it moving.”
Host Chris Rock really hit hard in all directions during his opening monologue as host of the 88th Academy Awards, hitting both the Academy for the all white nominees list, but also some of the black actors/actresses who called for a boycott of the program.
In a huge hit at Jada Pinkett Smith, who was one of those who prominently called for a boycott, Rock mocked her stance.
“Jada said she’s not coming. I was like, ‘Isn’t she on a TV show?’ Jada’s gonna boycott the Oscars? Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties. I wasn’t invited!”
He also hit at her husband Will, even though he was one of the Black actors snubbed.
“It’s not fair that Will was this good and didn’t get nominated,” he said of the actor’s role in Concussion. “It’s also not fair that Will was paid $20 million for Wild Wild West!”
