Beasts of No Nation star Abraham Attah has returned to the land of his birth, after a short sojourn in the United States on the award circuit.
Attah took home Best Male Lead at the Independent Spirit Film Awards, and a short while later presented an award on the grandest stage of ‘em all, during the 88th Academy Awards.
The young actor, who has become the subject of hot contention in Ghana in recent times over some unflattering remarks passed on his speech by three presenters, arrived in the country Friday morning. Surrounded by his entourage, the 15 year old was mobbed by enthusiastic fans and overzealous members of the press.
Attah rose to prominence after his role in the Netflix movie Beasts of No Nation, starring as Agu alongside Idris Elba (Commandant). His performance attracted rave reviews, and he has been rewarded with various awards, including the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actor at last year’s Venice Film Festival.
