The parliamentary candidate for the ruling NDC in the Shai Osudoku constituency, Desmond William Ocloo, has been killed in a car accident in the Ashanti Region.
He was travelling to the region in his vehicle late on Thursday, when he was involved in a head on collision with another vehicle near Joaso. He unfortunately lost his life in the accident.
The Greater Accra Regional Organiser of the NDC, Anthony Nukpenu, confirmed the tragedy to Citi Fm.
“We received the news last night [ Thursday] that our candidate was on his way to the Ashanti region and he had a road crash at Juaso. He was confirmed dead in the crash. Some of our executives have arrived at the Juaso Hospital Morgue and have confirmed that he’s no more. He was driving alone and had a head-on collision with another vehicle. Both drivers died in the accident.” He said.
Desmond Ocloo won the Shai Osudoku NDC parliamentary primaries last November, beating the incumbent MP, David Assumeng for the coveted slot.
