Businessman-Alfred Woyome, the man who was ‘fraudulently’ paid GHS51.2 million judgement debt and was ordered to ‘bring back’ the money has filed a request at the Supreme Court—asking the court to give him 3 more years to pay back the money.
My question is; what the hell did he do with all that money? Because, he surely did not set up companies in Ghana, else most of my mates who have graduated from universities and other institutions back home would have been employed in one of his companies now.
Can’t he just transfer the money back? Like, hit RETURN TO SENDER so it goes back into the state’s bank account?
You cannot reasonable tell me Alfred Woyome has squandered all that cash within this short space of time—perhaps, it was shared among his friends.
And if he gave some to his friends, can’t he just ask them all to bring it back?
At least, Woyome should be grateful that he is a free man and do what’s honest, respectful and commands forgiveness by just paying all the money back on time—instead of pulling strings.
According to Class Fm:
Businessman Alfred Woyome has, through his lawyer, requested the Supreme Court to allow him additional three years to refund the GHS51.2 million he fraudulently got from the state.
He made the request on Tuesday March 1. His Lawyer argued that his client could not refund the money by December 31, 2015 as he had earlier promised because all his accounts were frozen by the State during criminal investigations into the payment of the money.
He told the court he could pay GHS8 million by the end of April 2016 and spread the remaining GHS43 million in three years.
